Pots and jewels have a lot in common. They are relics or signals of taste, social behaviour and cultural history, they convey messages about their users and their environment.
I fell in love with ceramics primarily because I love how clay feels, and because of the vast possibilities clay has as a material. Clay responds immediately and sensitively to touch, and working with this material is like having a conversation with my feelings immortalized through fire. After many years, I begin to understand the behavior of clay when I can make it speak in my work.
"It is possible that I am not making things, but rather just giving shape to emotional energy."
